Abstract
In the history of humanity, the rehabilitation process (re-planning/reconstruction) of urban areas destroyed by ongoing disasters (natural/artificial) is still a fundamental architectural problem to this day. After emergency shocks, re-planning is essential in rehabilitating the urban environment (socially, economically, and culturally). In light of this information, this study discusses re-planning strategies and policies as disaster risk management system tools for Destroyed urban areas in Palestine. At the same time, it offers steps for implementing these policies and strategies and explores possible solutions and alternatives to an urban area that was destroyed because of the war against Gaza in 2014.
The concepts related to disaster management and the application stages of the disaster risk management system have been examined to approach the study with a correct theoretical framework. It also discussed disaster management practices, strategies, and policies for re-planning and reconstruction in Palestine. This thesis work aims to understand the disasters in Palestine and manage them correctly, then guide the re-planning policies to reduce disaster damage to be a part of the development plans.
